Trick or Treat

Boyd had a wonderful first Halloween. He started the day waking up at Aunt Emily's, then headed to the Big 12 Cross Country meet where he was in awe of the crowds, cruised around in the jogger, and shook things up in the bjorn (He does need to learn to tolerate cheering being part Ramsey and all). A nap on the drive home was followed by helping the neighbors pack down the leaves in their trailer. Boyd was in his element jumping on them to smush them down. The "Baby's first Halloween" hat which almost made me cry since he hardly seems like a baby anymore was a special gift from them. Later Gramps and Grandma Burla, Great Grandma Burla, and Great Uncle John came over for tricks and treats. Adam and I carved our pumpkins. A bath and costume change was up next. Boyd made several stops. The night ended with pictures with the Jack-o-lanterns and mom and dad and a struggle to go to bed. What a day!

Snort

Snorting while eating dinner. Love that face.

The decoy phone.

Brushing his teeth (2).

On Wednesday Boyd figured out how to snort or oink. He now prefers to make this sound and a gasping for air sound rather than babbling. First he made goat noises now pigs! Love him! Boyd turned 10 months on Thursday.

Boyd's New Skills and The Pumpkin Patch

Boyd is crawling the "typical way now (less like a pouncing cat). He doesn't seem to understand that he can use it as a means of transportation, rather than giving mom a weight workout, but he does know how to crawl to acquire desired objects.

Here he displays his talent of clearing half the shelf of toys. He loves his little book and has figured out that it is really fun to flip flop back and forth to produce sound too.

So proud to be pulling up. I love Boyd's attire or lack there of- silly guy.

Boyd drawing with markers (on both his face and paper).

Spooky!

Big and little Pumpkins with a skeleton Boyd.

Boyd smiled and waved at Red Robin, proving that dad has made Boyd unafraid of everything.

First family photo in a long time- Boyd why didn't you look at the camera?
We thought Grandma Ramsey would like the flowers; it reminded us of her wild garden.

One of Boyd's many expressions. He was taking in all the new sights.

Boyd's new hat position after he experimented with pulling it over his eyes.

Mom trying to resist the urge to put Boyd in the drivers seat of the tractor.

Boyd clapped for the first time at the pumpkin patch as I was taking pictures.

Pre Birmingham pictures

It's been a whirlwind around here. Boyd went to the doctors last week and weighed in at 19lbs 16 oz. Adam surprised us and showed up at Dr. Oswald's too. It was the first time daddy had to witness shots. We also had a long discussion about our sleep arrangement, but are yet to put it into action. I finished up my grad class and traveled to Birmingham England this past weekend. Boyd seemed to grow by leaps and bounds while I was gone- crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. Last night he discovered the fireplace and entertainment center. Baby proofing begins this weekend. Boyd was surrounded by family while I was gone and had a blast. He did develop his first cold and still has some mild congestion. His current interests include shaking toys, clapping toys together, going after desirable toys, anything to do with music, pulling up, eating toys, jumping, practicing walking while holding an adults hand, PEOPLE, galloping with Mommy, feeding himself finger foods, brushing his tooth, observing everything around him, talking, and just being silly. Tuesday in the tub he tried to put his face in the water so he could drink it. He thought this was very funny and he and mom laughed and laughed. Yesterday Grandpa Burla tickled Boyd and Boyd belly laughed again and again. WE continue to enjoy every moment. He is growing so fast. Enjoy the pictures but visit again soon as these are older. The first few pictures in this set were taken before 8 in the morning- don't we all wish we awoke so happy and energized?
