Running to the Iwo Jima Monument (For the Marines). When he started running there he announced, "I've been dreaming about this my whole life."

Proof that Papa was here.

He tried to climb some tower and "fell over".

Talking about something.

"Hi little fella." Boyd found a bug and watched it while in the National Cemetery.

Boyd was very quiet and intrigued by the flame/fire.

Proof we live outside Washington, D.C. (However, this is not the view from our front porch).

First Day

Here are a few pictures from Boyd's first day of school. He was brave. His face welled up for a minute (he was probably imitating me) and then with one more kiss we said farewell. It was probably a more difficult day for me than Boyd. His teachers and the director reported that he did great. We are all hoping the second + days are equally as smooth. Boyd said he played cars and trucks like the kind we used to have in the sandbox, read a book about a duck who ran away, ate cheerios for a snack, stuck his tongue out at the fish served for lunch but ate the bread and supposedly the cantaloupe and melon (the teachers said he just ate bread which I tend to believe), the teachers told a boy who picked up mulch to throw, "No mulch", and there was something about people dancing, and a part of the day about firetrucks? As Boyd stalled going to bed tonight I asked him what his favorite part of his day was. He told me "school". He really loves other kids and apparently didn't have enough of them during the day. A neighbor rang the doorbell tonight and Boyd went tearing out the door to romp around with the neighborhood kids resulting in his first trampoline experience and his first kicking and screaming because it was time to go home to bath and bed night. So proud of you Boyd and I love you very much.

Photo 1: Finding his name and cubbie spot.

Photo 2: Boyd searched the shelves for the Cars box and found some cars.

Photo 3: Proud that he has a spot at the table. What's that say? "Boyd with a happy face."

UPS Man

The cutest UPS man I've ever seen.

Too tired for much of a blog. Boyd has not been napping this week (except the picture below) and I'll be the first to admit I still need a daily nap. We are adjusting with good days and bad. I think we have found a school for Boyd. He spent two hours there with me today. Hopefully he will love it as much when I'm not there as he did today. Boyd has seen more of D.C. and Falls Church than me. It's always fun to hear of his adventures with Papa (we will be sad to see Papa go). Despite the lack of sleep and meltdowns I love this guy!

Tattoo

Hmmm? At least he is napping.

Boyd announced, "I'm not falling in the potty". He was proud of no hands.

Boyd is obsessed with wearing pajamas. Today he changed into these after visiting his school. He is Mr. Independent. He also snuck brownie batter out of the fridge and helped himself.

We've moved!

Well, it's official...we've moved to Falls Church, Virginia. I'm pretty sure all but two boxes have been unpacked and our house looks like a home. Boyd is adjusting pretty well with occasional tantrums; keeping us on our toes. All toys have been found, and rooms explored. Boyd loves the stairs and garage. Last night he ran in circles for a long time in the garage saying he had to run fast because he was in Runners World.-cracks me up. Before bed he asked to see mom and dad's room to make sure it was close. We are all a little tired but happy to be back together as a family.
