Week 32

Today was my 32 week appointment. Baby Burla continues to grow. Adam pointed out the other day, with joy, that if the baby were born, it would now survive. Of course last night he said, if baby is a girl he is going to tell our doctor to put her back. I doubt that. Baby Burla's heart rate was 135. I gained 3 pounds in two weeks. Our doctor scheduled an ultrasound for Wednesday. I am so excited! This has been the longest stretch without seeing baby. I am hoping Adam can be there too. He is always asking if they did an ultra sound after every appointment. He loves seeing Baby as much as me. That, or he is still hoping to catch a glimpse of the soon to be diapered area. The true purpose is that our doctor wants to get a better idea of what the birth size might be. She wrote this into her notes weeks ago after seeing the size of Adam's head. I'll post more after the appointment.

Hi Serena! Good job with the 3 lbs. in two weeks!! Baby Burla is growing and getting ready to come out and meet you guys - I'm so excited for you. Just to warn you about the late ultrasounds for weight estimation of the baby: I had an ultrasound every week or every other week at the very end (b/c I went to 42 weeks, and b/c she was breech) --- at one point, around week 36, I think, they told me she was up to 8.5 lbs. -- and she only weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. I did a little research on my own, and most things I read said that the most accurate prediction happens around week 28, and after that, the weight tends to be over-exaggerated - so if they tell you Baby is 10 lbs., do not freak out! Also, they told me that her head was "huge" -- which was also NOT true. I didn't want you to be worried!
