We loved our summer in CO. Boyd kept telling me it was the most beautiful state.  He was right at home. Going to Lyons, CO to stay with Kirk, Chris, CeAnn and Kylee is always like going home to me.  The girls are like my little sisters and Kirk and Chris the most welcoming hosts ever.  We had so many adventures that our 5 week trip and over 400 pictures might require several blog posts.  Many memories and stories were made.  Thank you to the Udovich's for letting us invade your home.
Mini Golfing in Estes Park. Boyd was planning this outing.  It was perfect for Boyd, he loved the windmill while CeAnn and I struggled getting it up the ramp.
This sign sums up this mini golf course and the people pictured.

 Being Buzz Lightyear.
Running around with Oscar and Otto in the rain at Em and Gabe's party
 This little man partied hard.
LOVE!!!!! Hanging out with Emily and Gabe- post Gabe putting Boyd face to face with an Alaskan Grizzly.  Boyd still loves you and talks about it. Thanks for letting us spend a little extra time with you.
Found these two snoozing post morning run one day. I don't think this was the day that Boyd tried playing with CeAnn's hair and opening her eyelids at 5am thinking it was me, but I could be wrong.
Boyd turning into a little fish.
 Making a splash with Kylee.
Mini golf with Kylee in Boulder.  Watch out for the water hazards here and the purple gorilla.
 One of Boyd's many faces.
All packed and ready for CeAnn's lake/soccer party.
This is out of order, but Boyd was quite possessive of the excavator.

Bolz Visit and the POWER OUTAGE

We have had an absolutely amazing summer thus far.  It all started with a visit from the cousins, Tyler, Andrew and Aunt Jenny at the end of June. Since their arrival this summer has been nothing but historic and memorable.  The night they arrived we had an epic east coast storm that Boyd is still obsessed with.  I guess three days with no power and 100 degree heat will do that to you.  If a light bulb is out or light is off there might be a power outage and if there is a candle around, good thing in the event of a power outage. In his defence it was extreme, he and I went out the morning after since everyone else was asleep and the damage was eye opening. We considered ourselves lucky and braved the storm and its after effects together.  Of course this being the Bolz's first trip to D.C. we had much to share.  We toured the town and visited so much in one week it was amazing.  My personal favorites, although not pictured were the Lincoln Memorial, FDR's memorial, and the Library of Congress.  We also had some great nights just hanging out together, playing baseball, playing telephone games and cars and games in the dark.  We were all relieved when the power came back on but the adventures of heat were not over.  The boys insisted that we watch the 4th of July fireworks over the National Mall so all aboard the Metro. On the way back we squished ourselves into a car that had no power, hence no AC with far to many people and then it pretty much stalled out in between stops.  It literally might have been the hottest I have ever been in all my life. Everyone was happy to get out and have Adam pick us up a stop early.  Adam was basically a hero.  If Tyler and Andrew didn't think their Aunt was crazy before they probably do now but they at least found comfort in the fact that I had ridden the New York subway.  I didn't have my camera out enough this trip but enjoy a few pictures.
The night of the outage, it was pitch black until the flash of the camera.
Found food way down in D.C. along with many other people looking for food. As we waited we toured a fire house and fire poles do exist.
Trees and lines down everywhere- explains the outages.
 Hiking Roosevelt Island.
Run!!!!
 Video games with the cousins.
Mandatory snuggle shot.
Andrew the teacher.
 Love these quotes.

Boyd visits the dentist

This morning marked Boyd's first trip to the dentist and he was cavity free! I've never seen a kid so excited for the dentist before. Boyd basically ran when his name was called and of course he was the hit of the office. The hygientist, I think her name was Neosho, was wonderful. She began by showing Boyd all the tools and letting him test them out. Then together they counted his teeth. Then she let him choose his toothpaste for the cleaning (Boyd chose chocolate). Then the cleaning and flossing followed. Oh, and Boyd was cold so she found him a blanket to keep him comfortable.
Boyd's favorite part- Mr. Thirsty the straw. He was even put in charge of using it.
Watching the hygienist floss his teeth.
While he waited for Dr. Miller to take a look the hygienist took Boyd on a special adventure to choose a toy and balloon. This snake was even better than the cool toothbrush he was also given.  Look at those teeth sparkle.
Post appointment he told me, "I don't think I should go to school now, because I will be too confused since I was already at the dentist. We should just go home." Nice try Boyd, only 3 more days of school.

How did Boyd grow up so fast?
No help needed to pedal his trike (even up the hill). Next summer it will be on to the bike with training wheels.
Mountain climber. New confidence during scrambling adventures.

 Playing in the trees.

Water man. You will get soaked.
Yes, he can put his face in the water.
 Fun times with Mimi.
For a Father's Day treat. Boyd had pizza and rootbeer with Dad (Mom does not allow soda). Here he was clapping because he was so excited.
